The East Vale Ministry Area aspires to be a place where all are welcome, whether you are exploring church or faith for the first time, are looking for community or are simply needing space to be quiet and reflect within the busyness of life. We believe that all people are made in God’s image and that God deeply desires to be in relationship with every single one of us. We are committed to loving and serving both God and our neighbours through all aspects of our life and worship within the Ministry Area; our teaching, our praying, our giving, our outreach, and everything in between.

As part of the Church in Wales, itself part of the worldwide Anglican Communion, we believe that we are called to help nurture people in the faith of Jesus Christ and help them grow in the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, sharing the good news of God’s grace throughout the world so that God’s Kingdom may be honoured and advanced.

Our faith can be summed up in the words of the Nicene Creed; a statement of faith agreed by Christians within the first few centuries of Jesus’ life, death and resurrection and shared by churches across the world since then.

The Nicene Creed

We believe in one God,
the Father, the almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all that is, seen and unseen.

We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,
the only Son of God,
eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made,
of one Being with the Father.
Through him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation
he came down from heaven;
by the power of the Holy Spirit
he became incarnate from the Virgin Mary,
and was made man.
For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered death and was buried.
On the third day he rose again
in accordance with the Scriptures;
he ascended into heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory
to judge the living and the dead,
and his kingdom will have no end.

We believe in the Holy Spirit,
the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son,
who with the Father and the Son
is worshipped and glorified,
who has spoken through the Prophets.

We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.
We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come. Amen.
